STUDENT GUIDE TO DAILY READINESS
Boys’ Physical Education — Central High School
What You Need Every Day
To be fully prepared for Physical Education, boys must bring the following items to each class period:
• Approved P.E. shirt and shorts
• Clean socks and properly laced athletic shoes
• Standard Protective Equipment:
• Athletic supporter
• Protective athletic cup
• Towel and personal hygiene items
• All clothing and equipment clearly labeled with your name
These items should be kept in your assigned locker so they are always ready.
Why These Items Matter
Physical Education includes running, calisthenics, conditioning drills, and other vigorous activities. The required equipment helps ensure:
• Safety during movement and exercise
• Comfort and readiness for all scheduled activities
• Good hygiene and proper care of personal items
• Smooth, orderly class routines
The athletic supporter and protective athletic cup are part of the school’s standard safety expectations for boys’ P.E.
How to Stay Organized
• Keep all equipment in your locker—don’t take items home unless they need cleaning.
• Check your locker before class begins.
• Make sure your shoes are tied and your uniform is clean and ready.
• Move steadily in the locker room and give yourself enough time to prepare.
• Ask your instructor if you’re unsure about any requirement.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
• Forgetting the athletic supporter or protective athletic cup
• Leaving items at home after washing them
• Not labeling equipment
• Rushing and skipping your locker check
• Assuming “light days” don’t require full gear
Being prepared every day helps class run smoothly and keeps everyone safe.
What Happens If You Forget Something
The school uses a simple reminder system:
1. First Time: Reminder Slip
2. Second Time: Second Reminder Slip
3. Third Time: Parent‑Signature Slip
4. After That: Referral to the Office of the Principal
These steps are meant to help you stay on track—not to get you in trouble.
If You Have Questions
Your P.E. teacher is available before or after class to help you understand:
• Equipment expectations
• Locker‑room routines
• Safety rules
• How to stay prepared each day
Never hesitate to ask. The goal is to help you succeed.
